    Best live workshop class ever

I was one of the slower makers but Ellie is so patient with walking you through the whole process esp the tricky bits. I love how she explains things, anticipates the common mistakes, and helps you problem solve. Love the Micro-Macro concept; she needs to patent that idea as it is so applicable with many creative things. And the kit! Did I mention the Kit! They were so nice to customize my color combo. Highly recommend the high quality video class and materials.

    I did it!

I had a really good time making this. Sewing it was easy Peezy especially with all your videos to replay many times easily explainable. My only problem with this bag was putting in the rivets I don’t know why it was so hard for me but I had a friend come over and we could not get the back ones and it took my husband and my son to finally get them to set. I don’t know what I was doing wrong but it’s Done!

Hi Gail! The trick with tubular rivets usually has to do with having (a) a firm, non-rubber mallet (b) a hard, stable surface, like a slab of stone or concrete floor to work on. And you have to hit them hard! Glad to hear you had fun and ended up with a successful make!

    Excellent Class and Kit

Ellie Lum is probably the best bag-making teacher you will find. Her spoken and written instructions and explanations are crystal clear, as are her patterns. She makes it possible to create something that you might otherwise have thought was not possible for you.

    Slabtown workshop

So happy I took the course! I learned all about hardware and working with wax canvas. Totally debunked my fears about making bags and backpacks. Ellie is so patient, and the combination of pre recorded video plus in person explanations worked really well. I hope to take other courses soon!
