The Maywood converts from backpack to tote with the pull of a strap! This kit includes all of the ingredients you need to make this bag.
The Maywood Totepack features strong leather straps, a zipper closure, exterior pocket with magnetic snap, and an interior laptop pocket.
This kit includes pre-cut leather, hardware, and a 14" brass zipper with a large hole in the slider to accomodate the leather zipper pull. You have the option to add on the PDF or paper pattern, online class, and tools.

Our Materials
Waxed Canvas
A densely-woven cotton fabric that's saturated with wax, giving it protection against the elements. It shows scuffs and creases that blend into a weathered patina. *fabric colors vary in weight from 10-12oz
Leather
Sourced from Oregon and a Pennsylvania tannery, and hand-selected for quality. Our hides are cut into straps with a hydraulic press to ensure precision and consistency.
Hardware
Hardware takes a bag from looking homemade to professional—and it's not hard to do! Using basic tools, you can set rivets & more. All our hardware is real metal and built to last.

The kit had everything and the pre-punched leather was a huge timesaver! The pattern was very clear and easy to follow and I really like the style of the bag. I’ve only recently started making bags, but I’ve been sewing clothes for over 40 years, so I appreciate the bagmaking-specific skills that are explained so well in the pattern. This is going to be a perfect bag for traveling!

I saw the Maywood pattern at my local sewing shop and thought what a cool bag it was so I bought some fabric. They didn't have the leather and hardware kit so I thought about buying everything separately to save some money. Nope. The leathern and hardware kit is SO SO WORTH IT! Everything is cut and holed and it allows a beginner like me to immediately begin constructing the bag, sewing, and attaching hardware and leather.
