😍 Maker Stories
"This is the most clear and in-depth explanation of how a sewing machine works and how to use it that I have come across. Now when my machine makes a weird noise I'm able to diagnose the problem quickly and keep going. Saved me lots of frustration. Highly recommended!"
"I taught myself to sew during the pandemic and after making 12 little lap quilts for Christmas gifts, thread constantly breaking and so frustrated. I’d been threading my machine not only incorrectly, but with the presser foot down…so not loading at all in the tension discs. I decided to take this class to see what other basics I was missing. Instruction is so fantastic, clear and helpful. I’d recommend to anyone starting out. Thrilled to know Klum House is local for me and hoping to take some in-person classes since my quilt-making took me to bag-making. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"
"I have been quilting for years. I am more or less self-taught. I never learned the basics of a sewing machine. In my quest to expand my sewing skills into bag making I was struggling with the machine. This class really helped me to understand the machine better and make minor adjustments that makes sewing through thicker fabrics a breeze. I am so glad that I decided to take it!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is worth the money! Thank you Klum House."
"Growing up my mom and my grandmother were quilters, so I was surrounded by sewing but never learned myself until this year. This class was a great way to get my feet wet. Now I want to sew everything!"

FAQS
Questions about The Sewing 101 Online Class? We've got you covered.
You just need a regular domestic sewing machine to learn on. No heavy-duty or industrial machine required. For best results, we highly recommend working on a machine that has been well-maintained and using a new, sharp needle. Denim needles or nonstick needles (if working with waxed canvas) are our favorite!
