Leather is a natural material, so slight inconsistencies in color and texture are to be expected. That's part of its charm! To reduce waste, we like to use as much of the hide as possible. We're big fans of embracing a little wabi sabi imperfection around here!
Our natural, vegetable tanned leather might feel a bit stiff at first, but it will soften nicely with use. The light tan color will also darken to a lovely caramel brown with time due to sun exposure and natural oils from your hands.
I like to make the Woodland Bags in multiples, since they make such nice gifts. While I have the equipment to make my own tabs and zipper pulls, it was so nice to have them already cut and the holes punched this time around. Theyโre very good quality and do reasonably priced! My items were shipped the same day I placed the order. Such excellent service!

Excellent product. Love the lighter weight tabs for my projects. Thicker tabs were too stiff/thick for the rivet to accommodate the leather tab and material I was using.

Help!
Iโm doing a project. I want to make felt bins using 3mm Industrial felt. The sides of the bins will close with 2 rivets and a leather tab which will go through 2 layers of the felt.
Questions- 1. Are the small rivets long enough to go through the leather tab, plus the 6mm of felt? Or do I need the medium?
2. Iโd like to label the bins using the stamps on the leather tabs. I saw the recommendation saying not to use the 1/8โ letters on the tabs. How many 1/4โ letters can I fit per tab, taking the rivet size into account?
3. Is there a way to use the 1/8โ letters on the leather tabs without them punching through? Iโd just love to get like 5 letters on those tabsโฆ

Hi Barbara! It sounds like you will need either medium or large double-cap rivets for your project, but the only way to know for sure is to try them! You'll know the rivet post is too short if the cap doesn't connect successfully. (Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer there.) You can fit about 4 characters on a leather tab with the 1/4" stamps. It is possible to use the 1/8" stamps as well but you have to hit them lightly, because otherwise they are too sharp and will cut through. I'd recommend practicing on scrap leather to get the feel for it and plan to have extra tabs in case you make some mistakes. Hope this helps!
