Leather is a natural material, so slight inconsistencies in color and texture are to be expected. That's part of its charm! To reduce waste, we like to use as much of the hide as possible. We're big fans of embracing a little wabi sabi imperfection around here!
Our natural, vegetable tanned leather might feel a bit stiff at first, but it will soften nicely with use. The light tan color will also darken to a lovely caramel brown with time due to sun exposure and natural oils from your hands.

My daughter lives in Seattle and some day I’m going to suggest we drive up to see Ellie and the girls and buy to our heart’s content.

I usually get all my leather from Klumhouse but I noticed recently that the tan leather especially had the underside “fluff” was rubbing off and also there were some markings on the back side of the brown leather.
I’ve compared the tan leather with previous scraps that I’ve had in the past and they’re completely different.
I’ll have to check it right way when I order and return if it happens again. I still love Klumhouse and their products and I want to continue to support the company.

The quality of the leather is great. I have had some issues with the black straps compared to the brown ones. The brown ones are fantastic! Consistent size and clean edges. The black ones are much different. First order had to go back as the the strap was an inconsistent width. The recent order the edges were very rough and shed leather. Not great. I love your waxed canvas and service is great but have been disappointed with the inconsistency of the black straps.
These are made from pure leather, soft, pliable and smells like real leather!!
