Everything is great quality.
I couldn’t imagine why I would need this tool, but I got it. First round, it didn’t work for me and I contacted KH for a replacement. They wrote back a very supportive note, after looking at my pictures with a few suggestions (I had looked at the video beforehand and thought I had it figured out). I needed to strike yet again, but more importantly, strike on a hard surface. I went down to the basement, sat on the concrete floor and was able to the rivet out. They weren’t as pretty as Ellie’s, but they will do. It’s going to be an exercise in “practice makes perfect” and I am confident I’ll get there! Love making bags (how many quilts and clothing articles do I need?) and love KH patterns, materials, authenticity and energy!
Love this. Thank you, Dd! Glad the concrete floor ended up working out for you. Having the right surface to set tubular rivets is key, but once you get the right set up you're golden. Hope you get lots more use out of that tubular rivet penning tool! <3
Love it! I have become a pro using it!
This tool was really handy and fool proof. LISTEN when they tell you that you need a good solid hard surface and the right mallet!!!! I first tried on my concrete verandah ledge and I was definitely struggling (remember to do a test first cause I messed up my first one on my good up good up bag lol) and a rubber mallet could not cut it. I had to get a hammer but that damages the tool :( I called it quits and grabbed a piece of granite the next day and MY OH MY! What a difference! Easy peasy!!! I am off to buy the proper mallet off the site now because tools ARE important. Love Klum House :)
Neikisha! This makes me so happy. I'm sorry you went through the frustration, but YES the right tool for the right job makes all the difference! Yay for a solid hard surface, a solid non-rubber mallet, and perfectly set tubular rivets!
