This is a recording of a live talk that took place on Zoom on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. This Lunchtime Live session is all about bag making hardware! Hardware can sometimes be intimidating for bag making newbies, but it shouldn’t be! With just a few tools, you’ll see that it’s actually quick and easy to set lots of different types of hardware and take your bag from looking homemade to truly professional. In this session, Ellie will introduce you to several different types of hardware, including magnetic snaps, Line 24 snaps, Chicago Screws, buckles, and O-rings.
Pay if Forward
This event was free of charge, but we encourage non-Black folks who are able to “pay it forward” with a donation to The Okra Project, a collective that seeks to provide resources and home cooked meals to Black Trans people worldwide.
About Lunchtime Live
Lunchtime Live is a series of weekly conversations with Klum House founder Ellie Lum to discuss our favorite subject (bag making!) and answer questions from our maker community. These sessions are free of charge and open to everyone. The idea for this series sprouted out of our desire to create new forms of learning and togetherness during this time of crisis and uncertainty. We envision this series as a container for sharing skills and ideas, gathering confidence and inspiration, and celebrating our shared love of making. View all past and upcoming live events here.
