This is a recording of a live talk that took place on Zoom on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. This Lunchtime Live session is all about rivets! If you’ve ever made a Klum House bag, you know that we LOVE rivets. Rivets are metal fasteners that make it possible to securely attach leather straps to your bag without having to sew leather on a sewing machine! In this talk, you’ll learn about two types of rivets, double-cap and tubular, as well as different options for setting, how to remove incorrectly set rivets, how to pair your leather with the correct rivet size, and more.
Pay if Forward
This event was free of charge, but we encourage non-Black folks who are able to “pay it forward” with a donation to Black Voters Matter, an organization whose goal is to increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. From their website: "Effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny."
About Lunchtime Live
Lunchtime Live is a series of weekly conversations with Klum House founder Ellie Lum to discuss our favorite subject (bag making!) and answer questions from our maker community. These sessions are free of charge and open to everyone. The idea for this series sprouted out of our desire to create new forms of learning and togetherness during this time of crisis and uncertainty. We envision this series as a container for sharing skills and ideas, gathering confidence and inspiration, and celebrating our shared love of making. View all past and upcoming live events here.
