Double-Cap Rivets
Double-cap rivets make it easy to add leather straps to your bag without having to sew it! One double-cap rivet consists of two pieces: a post and a cap. The easiest way to set is with a metal hammer on a hard surface. Alternatively, you could use a double-cap rivet setter tool with a mallet on a hard surface. The setter has a concave end that preserves the roundness of the rivet cap.
- Small = 1/4" (Cap Diameter: 7mm, Post Length: 7.3mm)
- Medium = 5/16" (Cap Diameter: 9mm, Post Length: 8.1mm)
- Large = 7/16" (Cap Diameter: 9mm, Post Length: 10.2mm)

What size rivets should I use?
Pairing leather weight and rivet post length correctly is crucial for a strong set and to avoid crooked rivets! As a rule of thumb, rivet posts should extend slightly above (1/16"–1/8") the bulk of your work.

They do the job and the price is excellent but I've used better quality at a higher price and will likely stick to them. The color is bit different from the large as well.
Once you get the hand of hitting slow and building up pressure, they work great and are so professional looking.

These call rivets are fantastic and worked way better for me than the others. These are much more consistent and they look great.

I recently made 2 klum bags from kits which went smoothly until it was time to install the hardware. Using the recommended mallot for sale on site was key to my success. I tried with rubber mallet and made a mangled mess. Buy the rught tools, these rivets come in varied sizes, be careful, measure & order the right size. I bought several pieces of your 1" wide leather pieces for cutting your own straps. What size rivets should I use to connect 2 layers of the strapping. I have some of the small size but they seem like they would be to short. Should I get the medium or large size? Also need slide buckles for the 1" leather straps but I see you only have them for the 3/4" straps.
Do you know where I could find these ? Or is it something you will have in stock?

Hi Kelly! The 1" wide leather strips you purchased from us are 5-7 oz in weight, so medium double-cap rivets should work great. We don't sell 1" buckles at the moment, only 3/4" so I'm afraid I can't help you with that part!
